Job Description

We’re looking for a Technical Lead/Front End Developer/Content Creator to become the very first in-house hire in this niche, marketing-leading agency. We believe this is a pivotal time, and at MLT Digital, you have a unique chance to build something from the ground up and shape how design, internal/external build, content and front-end development evolve in this changing digital landscape.

About the job:

Location: Hybrid – Work from home (Monday & Friday); Office-based in Glasgow (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday)
Salary: from £45,000, depending on experience
Reporting to: Operations Director

Key responsibilities: ​

  • Design and develop responsive, accessible WordPress websites, using modern custom themes and plugins
  • Design innovative digital and social media content tailored for various platforms (LinkedIn, Meta, Instagram, X, etc.) to support client visibility and social engagement
  • Collaborate on UI/UX design for legal sector clients, producing wireframes, mock-ups, and interactive prototypes for both desktop and mobile experiences
  • Manage website content updates, maintenance, QA/browser testing, and performance optimisation
  • Leadership of the core systems development process, ensuring robust governance is in place throughout
  • Manage and deliver all internal/external development projects
  • Lead or participate in migration projects (e.g., Joomla/Weblium to WordPress)
  • Apply best practice in SEO, web performance, and security
  • Share new front-end and creative approaches with the wider team; drive digital quality and brand consistency for clients
  • Stay ahead of digital trends, particularly in the legal sector

About you:

  • A clear desire to innovate and to bring new ideas to the table, having already embraced AI in a personal and work capacity
  • Expert in WordPress (theme/plugin development, modern workflows)
  • Highly proficient in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP (for WordPress)
  • Strong UX/UI design skills; able to produce visually engaging, conversion-optimised web assets
  • Experience with social media content creation (video, imagery, copy) for brand campaigns
  • Skilled at responsive and mobile-first website development and testing
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills; comfortable discussing solutions with colleagues and clients
  • Proactive, self-driven, with a can-do attitude; able to work independently and as part of a team 
  • Well-organised, with strong attention to detail

Hands on experience:

  • Evidence of developing successful technology functions supporting real-time business environments
  • Proven track record in IT project management and delivery across full project life cycles
  • Experience in fast-paced, AI dynamic environments
  • Strong background in managing third-party relationships and service delivery
