About the role

This is a new position in the MLT team, created to develop and establish a client service best practice that reflects the new dynamics of legal sector marketing.

You’ll report directly into the Managing Director who will mentor you to establish and grow the Client Service Department. You’ll collaborate closely with Project Director, Head of Performance, Data Dept., Marketing, and Business Development to deliver first rate, data driven services for clients through predominantly website, SEO, PPC, content marketing and email marketing channels. Our primary focus of all client service is lead generation so a candid approach will win the day.

Job Description

MLT has an enviable high level of client retention due to years of open, honest and no-fluff client service. Many clients have remained for over 10 years and continue to grow and prosper through these strong relationships built on trust. These relationships were set up by the founding Directors and are precious to MLT. These also define our legal sector tenure and must be upheld and developed. You must be comfortable embracing the learnings and insights of our legal niche for prosperous client relationships.

You’ll be responsible for approx 30 client relationships directly, ranging from Monthly to Bi-annual reporting frequency. You will also manage and develop an Account Manager who will handle mid and lower level ‘touch’ clients.

You’ll benefit from comprehensive data reporting and collaborate with the Performance Department to identify solutions, opportunities and strategic shifts in line with client objectives.

Key Responsibilities: ​

  • Become the trusted advisor on all aspects of lead generation marketing for your clients
  • To develop and apply legal client servicing principles that reflect a range of needs and commitments across your client base
  • Grow your clients’ revenue through timely communication, reporting, data-driven upsells and proactive selling of growth opportunities using the most effective channels
  • Maximise profitability through efficient working methods, accurate briefing, pricing and solid account management
  • Apply sound, professional judgement and understanding to resolve any client escalations using relevant internal departments for support.
  • Minimise client churn and maximise relationship health
  • Client Services Dept. monthly presentation to include highlights, issues, financial performance, upsells and clients’ development
  • Quarterly round up presentation of Client Services Dept performance to whole team showing key successes, challenges, insights, new upsells, service development, strategic considerations

Reporting and Collaboration:

  • You’ll report into the Managing Director and should be confident with gaining support wherever needed, putting forward solutions and sharing commercial opportunities
  • Weekly roundup of your clients’ highlights, issues, and opportunities through CRM report – Friday meeting as per the KPI rolling ‘Success Boards’
  • Work closely with the Project Director on a daily basis for quoting and developing Campaigns and Project proposals in response to clear client briefs, created by you
  • Liaise closely with Project Director on the status of your projects as they develop, acting as the conduit between operations and the client
  • Collaborate with Performance Dept for key insights and recommendations for proposal writing, presentation and development through to client sign off
  • Work with MLT Marketing to ensure prospect and existing client communications are optimised to include results news, successes, industry news, service developments, AI applications etc
  • Work with the Business Development Director to develop clients and stay on point with legal sector development and market influences

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Professional Services experience is essential and Legal Sector experience preferred
  • Proven experience of managing and developing teams
  • Clear understanding of how digital channels are used strategically to drive lead generation across website, SEO, PPC, content and email marketing
  • Engaging, collaborative and adept at building internal and external relationships. Strategic thinker – the ability to develop and execute strategic campaign plans to help grow client accounts. Experience using performance and analysis tools such as Google Analytics, Google Ads and Google Looker Studio
  • Analytic mindset – proficient in analysing website, SEO and PPC data, extract conclusions and recommendations for constant improvement
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills, experienced in presenting proposals to Professional Service clients
  • Strong business and commercial awareness with a keen eye for profitability
  • A commitment to results and data driven transparency to deliver high ROI for clients
  • Internal sign-off responsibility for all client scope of work and delivery of product
